Bio

Kyle Petter made his presence known with El Camino College right from the jump after his first season in 2009. The power-pitching left-hander and outfielder was drafted twice while at El Camino College. After a freshman season that saw him go 5-3 with 97 strikeouts on the mound and a .329 batting average at the plate with 10 home runs, he was taken by the Atlanta Braves in the 41st round of the MLB Draft.

He returned to ECC for his sophomore season and helped lead the Warriors to the 2010 CCCAA State Final Four, going 13-0 with a 2.12 ERA in 16 starts on the mound. He struck out 127 batters in 123 and 1/3 innings pitched while also playing in all 43 games for ECC that season. He batted .330 with a team-high eight homers and 48 RBI. In his career with the Warriors, Petter went 18-3 on the mound with 224 strikeouts and batted .329 (110-for-334) with 18 home runs and 100 RBI.

He would go on to be selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 34th round of the 2010 MLB Draft and played three years (2010-12) as a professional in the minor leagues.
