Beach Volleyball Splits Matches in Palm Desert

PALM DESERT, Calif. --- El Camino College split a pair of South Coast Conference matches on Friday with a 5-0 win over College of the Desert and a 4-1 loss to Long Beach City at Civic Center Park in Palm Desert, Calif.

The Warriors dropped only one game in the match against the host Roadrunners; the second set on court two. It was also the most competitive match of the day as the team of Erica Griffiths and Zariah Honeycutt edged the COD duo of Alexia Siani-Rader and Claire Thomas in three sets; 28-26, 18-21, 20-18.

In the match against Long Beach, the Warriors' team of Scheala Nielsen and Maddie Gloria pulled out the team's only win of the match on court five, scoring a 21-17, 18-21, 15-11 victory.

The Warriors will have a week off before returning to action on Friday, March 21 at Mount San Antonio. They will take on the host Mounties in an SCC tilt and then face Feather River in a non-conference match.
