Beach Volleyball Splits Home Opening Dual
TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College opened its home schedule on Friday morning with matches against Orange Coast College and the L.A. Harbor Club team at the ECC Sand Courts.
The Warriors were defeated by the Pirates, 4-1, in the opening match of the day but ECC bounced back with a 3-2 win over L.A. Harbor to finish off the day with a split.
Yasmine Itani and Arden Templeton shined for the Warriors, winning both of their matches on the day.
The duo fell behind 1-0 to the No. 4 match against OCC's Joey Payan and Sanampreet Samra. But they forced overtime in both the second and third sets to claim 22-20 and 17-15 victories respectively to claim the match and the Warriors lone point of the match.
In the second match, the duo again claimed a win in the No. 4 match with a 21-19, 21-9 decision.
The Warriors will return to action on Friday, Feb. 6 when they host Santa Ana and Palomar with matches beginning at 10 a.m.
