Pineda Named SoCal Pitcher of the Week, Lewis Earns Conference Recognition
TORRANCE, Calif. -- Sophomore pitcher Adrian Pineda was named the Southern California Pitcher of the Week by the California Community College Baseball Coaches' Association, it was announced Wednesday.
Pineda led the Warriors to an opening day victory over visiting Orange Coast College on Friday afternoon. He went six strong innings and allowed just two hits while striking out nine batters, needing just 69 pitches to do so with 48 strikes.
Meanwhile, Caden Lewis also earned recognition as one of the best players in the South Coast Conference during the week. He batted .444 and hit two home runs with eight RBis in just two games of action.
The Warriors have started the season with three straight wins over the Pirates and will head to Ventura on Friday for the first of a two-game, home and home series.
