Baseball Blanked by L.A. Harbor

TORRANCE, Calif. -- El Camino College's offense struggled mightily Thursday afternoon in a 6-0 South Coast Conference loss to L.A. Harbor at Warrior Field.

The  Warriors were held to just two hits on the day and were no-hit through six innings. Nathan Rivera's leadoff double in the seventh broke Seahawks starter Lucas Bauer's no-hit bid. Rivera was one of just three Warriors to reach second base on the day.

The Warriors got a strong outing from starting pitcher Adrian Pineda, who worked eight strong innings, allowing five hits and three runs, two earned, while striking out nine.

LA Harbor opened the scoring in the second inning when Branden Lepe delivered an RBI single to bring home the game's first run. The Seahawks extended their lead in the seventh on a solo home run by Sam Arredondo, making it 2–0.

The Warriors struggled to generate offense against  Bauer, who limited El Camino to just two hits  while striking out nine for the complete-game shutout.

Kai Nagashima was the only other Warriors player to record a hit on Thursday.

The teams will complete the series on Saturday as the Seahawks will host the rubber game at Carson High School.
