3CBCA SoCal Players of the Week Release
TORRANCE, Calif. --- Freshman Anthony Camarena was named the California Community College Baseball Coaches' Association SoCal Pitcher of the Week, it was announced Thursday.
Camarena tossed a complete-game, one-hit shutout on Friday to clinch the seventh South Coast Conference title in Warriors history and first since 2023.
Camarena allowed three walks and struck out five to record his eighth win of the season on the mound. It was his first career complete game and the second by a Warriors pitcher in as many weeks.
He threw 100 pitches with 69 strikes and the only hit he allowed was an infield single to leadoff the eighth inning that deflected off his glove. Shortstop Slater Nunez made a diving stop and threw to first base but the runner slid into first head-first and was called safe by the umpire to break up the no-hitter.
The Warriors would go on to win 7-0 to clinch the series and the conference title.
