Johnson Earns All-Conference Nod; Cortes Honorable Mention
TORRANCE, Calif. --- Freshman Kai Johnson was named to the 2024-25 All South Coast Conference, South Division First Team while sophomore Aaron Cortes was Honorable Mention, it was announced Monday.
Johnson averaged 16.1 points per game in 25 games this season and ranked second in the SCC with 66 made 3-pointers. He shot 34.4 percent from beyond the arc for the season but picked that up to 37.8 percent during conference play. Johnson also averaged 2.9 assists per game and led the team with 1.2 steals per game.
Johnson logged six 20-point games on the season including a career-best 35 points on Jan. 24 at L.A. Southwest. He shot 11-for-22 from the field and 8-for-18 from 3-point range in the game while also dishing out six assists.
Cortes earned Honorable Mention after leading the Warriors in rebounding, averaging 8.1 boards per game including 3.5 offensive rebounds a game. He averaged 11.2 points per game and led the Warriors with a 56.4 shooting percentage.
