Men’s Soccer Ranked No. 2 in the Nation

United Soccer Coaches' Junior College DIII Men's Soccer Rankings - Poll 3

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- El Camino College is ranked No. 2 in the nation according to the United Soccer Coaches' Junior College Division III poll released Tuesday.

The Warriors sit behind No. 1 and defending 3C2A State Champions Oxnard on the rankings after an explosive week that saw them score 16 goals in two matches. The team made a huge jump this week after being ranked No. 19 in last week's top-20 rankings.

Other schools ranked from Southern California include Fullerton (No. 5), Norco (No. 8) and Mount San Antonio (No. 10)

The Warriors are currently on a three-match winning streak and have outscored their opponents 25-2 in that stretch. They have tallied 33 total goals in six matches to lead the state along with a 5.5 goals per game average, another state best.

Individually, Marvin Gamez leads the Warriors with 10 goals and 22 total points, both marks leading the state. Last week, he scored a hat trick along with two assists in the first half of an 11-1 win over Cypress.

The Warriors are on the road to take on Glendale on Tuesday night. The Vaqueros are currently ranked No. 15 in the nation according to this week's USC Poll.
