TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College men's soccer head coach Michael Jacobson recorded his 100th career victory with a 1-0 shutout over No. 3 L.A. Mission on Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Soccer Field.

Jacobson began his head coaching career with the Warriors in 2018 and has led the program to new heights in his tenure and reached the milestone in just 144 matches, amassing a 100-23-21 overall record. The Warriors have won at least 14 games in five straight seasons and won the 3C2A State Championship in 2023. They were also named 2023 National Champions by the United Soccer Coaches.

Jacobson has led the Warriors to the 3C2A postseason in the last five seasons and are currently riding two straight years as South Coast Conference, South Division champions.

The Warriors, who were also ranked No. 3 in the first CCCSIA State Rankings released last week along with the visiting Eagles, got a goal from Joshua Zendejas and four saves from goalkeeper Luis Avelar in the win on Tuesday.

In the 33rd minute, Arsen Mkhitaryan headed a ball into the box where Jaden Hancock was waiting. The sophomore then threaded a pass between an Eagles defender's legs and across to a charging Zendejas who tucked the ball into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

The Warriors defense would make that goal stand up as they clamped down in the second half and did not allow the Eagles to have a single shot on target in five attempts in the final 45 minutes.

With the win, the Warriors have now extended their unbeaten streak to seven games including results against four teams ranked in the CCCSIA Top-20 rankings.

In fact, the Warriors have three wins against top-20 opponents (No. 3 LA Mission, No. 12 Norco, No. 20 Chaffey) and draws against No. 5 Santa Monica and No. 18 Cypress.

The Warriors will welcome another top-20 opponent to the ECC Soccer Field on Friday afternoon when No. 14 San Bernardino Valley comes to town for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
