Warriors Tie Match Late, Win Shootout at Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. --- El Camino College played Long Beach City to a 2-2 draw and prevailed in a shootout in the third-place match of the South Coast Conference Tournament on Thursday at LBCC.

The Warriors got goals from Jaden Hancock and Takumi Yasui to secure the draw and then won the shootout 3-2 to claim third place in the tournament.

The Vikings opened the scoring in the 25th minute to take a 1-0 lead but Hancock responded with the equalizer in the 30th minute to send the game into halftime deadlocked at 1-1.

In the 65th minute, the Vikings again scored to take the lead but Yasui found the back of the net in the 88th minute to lock it back up and send the game into a shootout, which the Warriors won 3-2.

The Warriors finished the regular season with a 12-5-6 overall record and will await to find out their first round postseason opponent.
