TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 3-1 (25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 25-18) loss to visiting Golden West on Wednesday night at the ECC Gym Complex.
Jordan Jotie hammered down 15 kills and hit at a .268 clip while Owen Loebs added 13 kills on 36 swings along with 12 digs for the Warriors in the loss. Ali'i Oglesby dished out 35 assists and set the Warriors to a .252 attack percentage.
For the Rustlers, Gino Viggiano led the way with 16 kills on a .324 attack percentage with three players combining for 51 of the team's 56 assists.
Despite the loss, the Warriors did hand the Rustlers, the defending 2025 3C2A State Champions, their first set loss of the season after taking the fourth frame 25-23. The Warriors had a chance to claim the second set as well as they led 20-16 before the Rustlers ran off nine of the final 11 points.
The Warriors will return to action on Friday with a road contest against Irvine Valley at 6 p.m.
