TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College began the second leg of conference play with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-21) victory over Antelope Valley on Friday night at the ECC Gym Complex.
The win snapped the Warriors' five-match losing streak, their longest skid of the season. The win also avenged a five-set loss to the Marauders in the conference opener on Feb. 25.
Jordan Jotie led all players with 13 kills on 30 attempts. He also added seven digs and two service aces on a night where the Warriors were outstanding from the service line. Six different players recorded an ace with Tyler Hartley leading the way with four.
Luke Harmon added three aces with five kills on 12 swings without an error and Joshua Galloway led the defense with 12 digs.
The first set was the most competitive of the night as the teams exchanged points, eventually being tied 9-9. The Warriors would run off 11 of the next 16 points to take a 20-14 edge and they used the cushion to pull away and take the 1-0 lead.
The second was all Warriors as they jumped out to a 10-2 lead and cruised from there. In the third, the Warriors used another late run to pull away late and take a 24-17 lead. The Marauders would run off four straight to make it interesting but Harmon's fifth kill of the night sealed the victory for ECC.
The Warriors will return to action Wednesday at home when Santa Barbara pays a visit for a 6 p.m. first serve.
