Warriors Blitz Chaffey in Conference Opener, Rubke Surpasses Milestone

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College trounced Chaffey, 17-7, in the South Coast Conference opener for the Warriors on Wednesday at the ECC Aquatics Center.
The Warriors dominated the game, scoring seven times in the opening period and they never looked back.
Robbie Josic led the team with five goals on the day with Cooper Josic adding four goals and two assists. Alex Bugarin added three goals and Zane Johnson had two goals with a match high five assists and three steals.
Vios Lopez made 17 saves in the cage to pick up his second win of the season.
Wednesday's win was the Warriors' second against Chaffey this season. The first came on Sept. 5 at the Cypress Tournament, which was also head coach Noah Rubke's 100th career coaching win. Rubke has been at the helm for eight seasons and led the squad to two 3C2A postseason appearances and two 20-win seasons.
The Warriors will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 8 on the road for another SCC game against Cerritos.
