HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. --- El Camino College competed in four matches this weekend at the Golden West/Orange Coast Tournament including two top-10 opponents.
No. 8 Cuesta 20, Warriors 7
The Warriors opened the weekend with a loss to the No. 8 Cougars. Zane Johnson led the Warriors with three goals and Robbie Josic added a pair.
Warriors 10, Palomar 9 (OT)
Robbie Josic scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime to lift ECC past the Comets. He finished with two goals in the match while Alex Bugarin led the way with four tallies. Cooper Josic also had two goals with Sawyer Ruth and Isaiah Garcia each scoring once.
No. 7 Cerritos 14, Warriors
The Warriors held a 7-5 lead over their conference rivals after two periods of play, but the Falcons erupted for six goals in the third to claim an 11-9 lead heading into the final eight minutes. Cooper Josic scored a power-play goal to shrink the deficit to one with 2:18 left in the match but the Falcons ran off three straight goals to end the match and claim the win.
Riverside 13, Warriors 8
Sawyer Ruth led the offense with three goals and Bugarin added two in the losing effort.
The Warriors will return to action on Wednesday with a South Coast Conference match at Long Beach.
