TORRANCE, Calif. --- No. 9 El Camino College won its fourth straight game to start the 2026 season with a 3-0 shutout over visiting Golden West on Friday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

Raquel Alonso tossed a complete-game shutout and allowed just two hits on the day to record her second win in the circle. Jazmin McHenry went 2-for-3 with a triple, one RBI and the would-be game-winning run.

Erica Rivera also tossed a complete game for the Rustlers and suffered the loss, allowing three runs on eight hits.

The pitchers dominated the first half of the game as both teams combined for just five hits through four-and-a-half innings.

But McHenry lined a leadoff triple that hugged the left-field line and went deep into the corner to put the go-ahead run in scoring position with no outs.

Two batters later, Emily Gamboa laced a single through the drawn-in infield to plate McHenry and put the Warriors up 1-0. The Warriors added two more runs in the sixth but Alonso would have been fine without the insurance as she retired the final 13 batters she faced in a row to lock down the victory.

The Warriors will take the weekend off and return to action on Tuesday with a tough road contest against No. 11 Orange Coast with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
