Martinez Leads Offensive Barrage as Warriors Down Orange Coast

COSTA MESA, Calif. --- Trinity Martinez had a big day at the plate as El Camino College scored a 9-5 road victory over Orange Coast on Tuesday afternoon.

Martinez went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored as she hit a double and a home run. She was one of three players to record multiple hits on the day and the only one to record a pair of extra-base hits on a day when the offense was firing on all cylinders.

The Warriors pounded out 12 hits and scored five times in the first inning to take control of the game. Melissa Terrazas opened the scoring with an RBI double in the opening frame and then Martinez made it 3-0 with a two-run double. Emma Padilla then blasted a two-run homer to make it 5-0 and the Warriors never looked back.

Terrazas finished the day 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Padilla was 2-for-4 with a run scored along with the two-run home run.

Raquel Alonso recorded her third win of the season as she pitched four innings of relief and allowed two runs on three hits with two strikeouts.

The Warriors will open South Coast Conference play on Thursday on the road against Rio Hondo.
