TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College won its eighth straight game to start the season with an 8-0 shutout against East Los Angeles in six innings on Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

Freshman Raquel Alonso was spectacular in the circle as she allowed just one hit in the first inning to the Huskies. She improved her record to 4-0 and lowered her season ERA to 0.55 in 25.2 innings pitched this season. She's allowed just two earned runs and 12 hits so far this year.

Meanwhile, the offense capitalized on Huskies miscues as they scored four unearned runs including the final three in the sixth inning to record the run-rule win.

Miranda Morelos had a pinch-hit three-run triple in the fourth inning to break the game open and put the Warriors up 5-0. Abigale Dedech, who also entered the game as a substitute earlier in the game, recorded the game-winning hit in the sixth with a bases-loaded single to left that got past the Huskies' left-fielder which allowed all three base-runners to score and seal the game.

The Warriors will return to action on Thursday with another conference home game against L.A. Harbor. They will look to match their 9-0 start to a season from 2025, a team that went on to win a program-record 39 games. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
