TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered an 11-1 non-conference loss to Cypress on Saturday at the ECC Softball Field.

A seven-run sixth inning for the Chargers broke open a close game and helped the visitors pull away. Up until the sixth inning, Warriors pitcher Estrella Tapia was working on a no-hitter until Lynsey Arostigue hit a two-out double in the sixth which started the rally for Cypress.

In the sixth, the Chargers scored seven times with four of those runs being unearned. They would add three more in the seventh.

Emily Gamboa went 2-for-3 and was the only Warriors player with a multi-hit game on Saturday with Sophia Munguia driving in the lone run on a sacrifice fly.

Tapia took the loss despite allowing just two hits and five and 2/3 innings of work. She allowed five runs, just two earned and struck out one.

The Warriors will return to South Coast Conference play on Tuesday at home against Mt. San Antonio.
