Early Mistakes Sink Warriors against Mounties

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College committed five errors and allowed five unearned runs on Tuesday in a 8-4 South Coast Conference loss to Mount San Antonio at the ECC Softball Field.
The Warriors allowed all five unearned runs in the second inning as the Mounties took a big lead early courtesy of three Warriors errors in the frame and it proved too much to overcome.
Jazmin McHenry tossed a complete game and allowed eight runs, three earned on nine hits. She struck out two.
Zoe Herford went 5 and 1/3 innings of relief for the Mounties and picked up the win, allowing one earned run on five hits with five strikeouts.
Trinity Martinez went 3-for-4 for the Warriors with two doubles, the team's only extra-base hits of the day. Emily Gamboa and Sophia Munguia each had two hits in the loss.
The Warriors have now dropped consecutive games for just the second time this season. They will look to stop the skid on Wednesday when Orange Coast visits the ECC Softball Field for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
