TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered its fifth straight loss on Tuesday with a 9-4 South Coast Conference defeat against Long Beach City at the ECC Softball Field.

This marks the first time since 2016 that the Warriors have had a five-game losing streak. The team has been outscored 40-19 during the current skid.

On Tuesday, the Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first on RBI hits from Emily Gamboa and Kate Pedroza.

But the Vikings put up six runs in the second inning and never looked back to even the season series between the teams with one final game scheduled on April 21, the final game of the regular season for the Warriors.

Gamboa finished the game 2-for-4 while Emma Padilla, Gabby Merced and Trinity Martinez all had multi-hit games on Tuesday.

The Warriors will be right back in action on Wednesday afternoon when Palomar visits the ECC Softball Field. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
