Merced Drives In Three as Warriors Down Compton

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College scored eight unanswered runs to record an 8-1 South Coast Conference victory over Compton on Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

Gabby Merced went 1-for-3 with three RBIs while Kamaile Ho was a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Raquel Alonso tossed a complete game, allowing one unearned run on four hits. She struck out four to pick up her eighth win in the circle.

The Coyotes struck first in the opening frame as they manufactured an unearned run on an RBI groundout by Sarah Aguilar.

But the Warriors tied it in the second, took a 2-1 lead in the third and then added six more in the final three innings to put the game away.

The Warriors will be back in action on Thursday when they host East Los Angeles for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
