Due Heads to San Jose State
El Camino College swimmer Ida Due will be continuing her athletic career at San Jose State University. She will leave ECC as one of the most accomplished swimmers in the history of the Warriors program.
Due burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2019 in a big way. She was a force in her first year of competition as she was the South Coast Conference champion in the 500-yard freestyle, 400-yard individual medley and the 1650-yard freestyle. She is the conference record holder in the 400 IM (4:32.99) and 1650 Free (17:40.04).
Due was named the 2019 SCC Co-Swimmer of the Year and would go on to claim the CCCAA State Championship in the 500-yard freestyle (5:03.14) and the 400 IM. Her time of 4:30.49 is currently the CCCAA state record. Due would also add a third-place finish in the 1650 Free.
Her sophomore year was off to a fantastic start as Due won eight times in two invitational/open events to go along with six wins in two dual meets.
In the history of ECC swimming, there is perhaps no more decorated swimmer than Due. She is the ECC Pool record holder in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:50.98. She has also posted a top-15 time in 16 of the 18 events in which the Warriors compete. She holds the record in the 400 IM, 1000 Free and 1650 Free and holds top-5 finishes in seven other events.
