Thornton, Mozian Score Wins at Cuesta Super Invite
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. --- Alex Thornton and Olivia Mozian scored multiple wins over the weekend as El Camino College competed in the Cuesta Super Invite.
Thornton scored a victory in the men's 200 breastroke with a time of 2:06.38. It was the highlight of a great day in the for Thornton who recorded second-place finishes in the 50 and 100 breast, 200 IM, and 100 fly.
On the women's side, Olivia Mozian scored a pair of victories for the Warriors as she took first in the 1650 freestyle (18:21.32) and the 500 free (5:21.00). She also finished second in the 200 free (2:01.65) and fifth in the 50 backstroke (31.05). Mozian was also a member of the 800 free relay team along with Monica Sanchez, Jasmine Eskander and Sophia Beghin that finished second in the event (8:30.06).
Other highlights of the weekend included:
- Eskander finished third in the 1650 free with a time of 18:55.86 with Beghin placing fourth with a time of 19:39.58).
- Eskander also placed second in the 500 free (5:23.21) and fourth in the 400 IM with a time of 5:03.13.
- Koichiro Ambe finished second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:22.11.
- Sanchez finished sixth in the women's 50 breast with a time of 35.00. She also placed seventh in the 200 breast with a time of 2:42.73.
- Gio Wheeler posted a fifth-place finish in the men's 50 fly with a time of 23.72. He placed sixth in the 200 fly (2:02.25).
