Skefich, Pleasant, Walton Highlight Warriors’ Performances at Redlands

REDLANDS, Calif. --- El Camino College made the trek to the University of Redlands to take part in the Redlands Invitational.

Jadeyn Skefich, Raelyn Pleasant and Devin Walton all had top-5 outings during the invitational.

Skefich placed second in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:42.46, eight spots better than the next community college competitor. She was also one of just two freshmen to compete in the event.

Pleasant placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 11.13m (36 feet, 6.25 inches). The event featured 23 competitors comprised of mostly NCAA Division II talent. Only one other athlete was from a community college.

Pleasant also placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 5.40m (17 feet, 8.75 inches). She was the top community college competitor in the event and finished 0.01m shy of a top-5 mark.

Walton posted a fourth-place finish in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.94m (22 feet, 9.25 inches). He was the only community college competitor to finish in the top-20 in the event that featured 35 competitors.

The Warriors will return to action this weekend as they host the Dave Shannon Invitational. It will be a two-day event beginning Friday, March 27 at Murdock Stadium and the ECC Throws Field.
