Skefich Places Third at SoCal Finals
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. --- Freshman Jadeyn Skefich recorded a podium finish in the 10,000 meters at the 3C2A Southern California Preliminaries on Saturday at Bakersfield College.
Skefich participated in the only final conducted on Saturday in the 10,000m run. She finished in 39:53.58 to finish third in the event. She finished behind Sophia Ebiner (39:29.91) of Mt. San Antonio and Natalie Allen (39:38.82) of San Diego Mesa in a field that featured 26 competitors.
They were the only three athletes to finish the race with a time under 40 minutes.
In the prelims, Tilliana Wakefield-Carl headlined the Warriors competitors as she tied for the best mark posted in the pole vault, clearing 3.65m (11 feet, 11.75 inches).
Other notable performances in the prelims on Saturday:
- James Pinner: t-2nd in men's pole vault (4.20m)
- Raelyn Pleasant: 3rd in women's long jump (5.61m). 7th in triple jump (11.14m)
- Gunner Perez: 5th in the 110m high hurdles (14.98)
- 4x400 men's relay team of Perez, Cire Younger, Daniel Reamer and Daniel Smith: 5th place (3:19.24).
- Laighton Scott: 5th in the discus (45.24m).
The 3C2A Southern California Finals will take place on Saturday, May 9 at Bakersfield College.
