TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 51-43 loss to visiting Rio Hondo on Friday night at the ECC Gym Complex.
The Warriors have now lost six straight to start the season as they committed 36 turnovers on Friday night, which led to 23 points for the Roadrunners.
Bella Blum led all scorers with 24 points and grabbed six rebounds while Aisha Burton recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to go along with a team-high five steals.
For the Roadrunners, Jaden Hill-Massarotti led the team with 22 points including 19 in the second half. Alexia Valencia added 13 points and four rebounds while Emi Naruko recorded a game-high seven steals.
The teams were deadlocked in a 15-15 tie at halftime but the Roadrunners managed to win the third and fourth quarters by four points to score the win.
The Warriors cut the deficit to five with 2:50 left in regulation after Burton hit a driving layup off a feed from Blum.
But Valencia came back on the next possession and hit a 3-pointer to make it an eight-point lead for the visitors and the Warriors could not recover.
The Warriors will return to action on Friday, December 6 when they travel to Cuesta for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
