TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 49-43 South Coast Conference, South Division loss to Long Beach on Friday night at the ECC Gym Complex.
Christiauna Taylor led the way offensively for ECC with 11 points and seven rebounds with Jackie King scoring nine points and grabbing seven boards. Leah Richards added seven points with a career-high seven assists and three steals.
For the Vikings, Mya Barnes led the way with 17 points and 12 rebounds with Yesenia Garcia adding 11 points and a team-high four assists.
The teams were tied six times and traded the lead on five occasions but most of that happened early in the first quarter. The Vikings would take a 25-15 lead into halftime and managed to hold off the Warriors the rest of the way despite ECC making some runs to cut the deficit down to two points with 32 seconds left.
The Warriors will return to action on Wednesday night at home against L.A. Southwest.
