TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College scored a decisive 6-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting East Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Soccer Field.
The Warriors had six different players record a goal on the afternoon as the offense peppered the Huskies goal with 19 shots on target and 37 shots overall.
Sarahi Sanchez scored one goal with two assists while Julia Camacho added a goal and one assist on the day. Jordan Stemburga made one save to pick up the win on 78 minutes of action with Ashley Garcia subbing into the match in the 79th minute to close out the game in net.
Catherine Curwood-Wagner opened the scoring with a goal from the middle of the box, finishing off a low cross from Camacho to make it 1-0 in the third minute of action.
It was quiet for the rest of the half as the Warriors took that 1-0 lead into halftime, but the offense exploded in the second half.
Camacho opened the scoring in the second half, taking a pass from Sanchez and depositing it into the net to make it 2-0 in the 53rd minute.
Just a shade more than a minute later, Sanchez got into the act as she scored an Olimpico, curling a corner kick from the far side into the net for a 3-0 lead and the Warriors never looked back.
Ruby Colcol, Sophia Hudson and Bella Licata wrapped up the scoring in the second half to cement the win.
The Warriors finish conference play in fifth place with a 4-3-2 mark in SCC action, good for 14 points and the No. 5 seed in the upcoming SCC Tournament. They will face No. 4 seed Cerritos on Friday afternoon in Norwalk. The Falcons defeated L.A. City, 3-0, on Tuesday to push their SCC record to 6-3-0 and 18 points.
