TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College Warriors women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 game at home on Friday afternoon at Warrior against the visiting Mt. San Jacinto Eagles.

The Warriors (1-5-1) outshot the Eagles 16-to-12 for the game and had seven shots on goal but couldn't find the equalizer after conceding early.

The Eagles were the aggressor for the beginning of the game and were rewarded with a well worked team goal in the 15th minute of play. Eileen Vargas finished off a chance at the top of the box after a well worked play from the Eagles offense.

However, after the goal, the Warriors flipped gears and became the aggressors for most of the first half.  The Warriors outshot the Eagles 7-to-5 for the first half.  Kimberly Estrada came up big for the Mt. Sac Jacinto in the first half making three saves.

In the second half, the Warriors pressed for an equalizer and outshot the Eagles 9-to-7 for the half. The Warriors had a golden chance in the 75th minute. Citlalli Sarahi Sanchez sent a free kick through the box and Lily Fulton had a shot cleared off the line by an Eagles defender.  However, the Warriors couldn't find a chance to break down the Eagles defense over the final 15 minutes of the game.

Jordan Stemberga made seven saves for the match.

The Warriors have added a home game next Tuesday. They will host the College of Desert with kick-off set for 4:00 p.m.
