TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College Warriors dominatated from start to finish in a 3-0 win over the Compton Coyotes on Friday afternoon at the Warrior Soccer Field.
The Warriors (3-9-3, 2-3-1 SCC) had a season high 30 shots in the win over Compton. They also matched the LA City College game by allowing just one shot from Compton. Jordan Stemberga picked up the clean sheet and made one save in her only action of the game.
Leah Garcia scored her third goal of the season, Barcelona Heredia her second, and Sophia Hudson scored her first for the Warriors.
Garcia opened the scoring in the 6th minute. Citlalli Sarahi Sanchez passed the ball to Evie Campbell from on top of the box. Campbell's touch deflected the ball to Leah Garcia who slotted the ball into the far post to make it a 1-0 game.
Citlalli Sarahi Sanchez picked up her second assist in the 17th minute as Barcelona Heredia headed the ball in on a corner kick to make it 2-0.
Sophia Hudson scored the third and final goal of the game of the Warriors in the 50th minute behind a moment of individual brilliance. After getting the ball near midfield she dribbled around four Compton defenders and from the right side of the box she shot it past the keeper into the far left corner to make it a 3-0 game.
Jordan Stemberga picked up the clean sheet and made one save in her only action of the game.
The Warriors will return to action next Friday at East Los Angeles before hosting LA Harbor in their final home game of the regular season on Tuesday, November 4th.
