NORWALK, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 2-1 loss on the road to Cerritos in the opening round of the South Coast Conference Tournament Friday afternoon at the Cerritos Soccer Field.
The Warriors, seeded No. 5 in the tournament, took an early lead against the No. 4 seeded Falcons after Leah Garcia opened the scoring in the fourth minute off an assist from Evie Campbell.
But the Falcons would net the equalizer in the 19th minute on a goal from Christina Rodriguez and then they took the lead for good after Jessica Arroyo scored the go-ahead goal in the 72nd minute.
With the loss, the Warriors will host the fifth-place match on Thursday, Nov. 13 as they take on No. 6 East Los Angeles after the Huskies suffered a loss at Pasadena on Friday. The time of the match is yet to be determined.
