NORWALK, Calif. --- El Camino College opened South Coast Conference play with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 28-26) loss to Cerritos on Wednesday night at The Aviary.
The Warriors were led by Amiekal Looney with 11 kills and a new career high six blocks (1 solo) in the loss. Alison Ramirez added five kills with Justine Sapitanan recording her second straight double-double with 26 assists and 11 digs. Sammi Carcamo led the defense with 17 digs.
For the Falcons, Evelyn Soto-Castro led the way, recording 14 kills. Jordin Lewis contributed 13 kills, while setter Minerva Rodriguez orchestrated the offense with 34 assists.
The Warriors will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 8 with another road conference game at Long Beach with first serve set for 6 p.m.
