TORRANCE, Calif. --- Justine Sapitanan and Amiekal Looney led El Camino College to a 3-1 (25-20, 25-18, 21-25, 25-21) South Coast Conference win over Cerritos on Wednesday night at the ECC Gym Complex.
Sapitanan had a career-high 27 digs to go a along with 27 assists for her seventh double-double of the season while Looney paced the offense with a team-high 16 kills on 35 swings with just three errors for a .371 attack percentage. Looney set a new career high with nine blocks (three solo).
Kylie Solomua also set a new career best with eight kills. She had just one error and attacked at a .269 clip. Cynthia Nario added 19 digs with Jordyn Garlitos (13) and Sammani Carcamo (10) also reaching double figures.
The Warriors recorded 91 digs as a team, marking the third time in the last four matches they have posted 90-plus digs and fourth time overall this season. With the win, the Warriors have now won five of their last six matches including three straight wins in SCC South Division play.
The team now sits in second place in the division behind Long Beach, who is undefeated at 4-0. The Warriors and Vikings will square off on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at ECC.
