TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 12-10 South Coast Conference loss to visiting Mount San Antonio on Wednesday afternoon at the ECC Aquatics Center.
The Warriors got three goals from Lauren Reed and two apiece from Rileigh Clark and Olivia Mozian but came up one stop short of having a chance to tie the match.
In the fourth quarter and trailing 11-10, the Warriors defense had one last stand and had the Mounties run down the shot clock to the final seconds but Audree Molenrich found the far corner of the net as the shot-clock buzzer blew to make it a two-goal game with 20 seconds left in regulation.
The Warriors failed to score on their ensuing possession and the Mounties ran out the clock to secure the win.
Penalties were a big factor in the loss as the Warriors committed three penalty fouls the Mounties converted all three chances.
The Warriors will now head to the Long Beach City College Tournament this weekend and then wrap up conference play against the Vikings at LBCC next Wednesday, Oct. 29.
