Warriors Compete at Golden West Central Park Classic
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. --- El Camino College competed at the Golden West Central Park Classic on Friday morning in Huntington Beach, Calif.
It was the largest meet of the season to date for both the men and women's team as 21 full teams competed in the men's race while 15 teams participated in the women's race.
Doyun Kim was the top finisher for the Warriors on either side as he placed 51st in a field that featured 211 runners. Kim crossed the finish line in 22:51.86 as the Warriors would place ninth overall in the team standing with 289 points. Cuyamaca won the race with 44 points with Riverside finishing four points behind in second place.
Nathaniel Lincourt and Rodolfo Guzman were the next Warriors finishers as they crossed the finish in 23:22.67 and 23:25.88 respectively.
On the women's side, Ayla Barbosa placed 31st overall in a field of 121 runners, crossing the finish line in 21:46.29. Emily Gutierrez placed 42nd with a time of 22:22.47 and Denisse Ocampo finished the race in 26:17.94.
Freshman Jadeyn Skefich, who won her first two career races to start the season, did not race on Friday.
The Warriors will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the UC Riverside Invitational.
