Warriors Compete at Manny Bautista Invite in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- El Camino College traveled to the Manny Bautista Cross Country Invite hosted by San Diego Mesa on Friday at the Naval Training Center Park in San Diego, Calif.
Jadeyn Skefich once again shined for the Warriors on the women's side as she placed third overall at the meet that also served as a preview to the 3C2A Southern California Championships, which will be held at the same venue on Nov. 7.
Skefich finished third overall in a race featuring 181 runners. She posted a time of 18:35.91, just two seconds off second place. Jazzlyn Islas of San Diego Mesa won the race with a time of 18:20.72 on her home course.
Ayla Barbosa (61st, 21:09.13), Emily Gutierrez (64th, 21:21.13) and Denisse Ocampo (23:51.49) rounded out the finishers for the women on Friday.
On the men's side, Nathaniel Lincourt paced the team with a 56th place finish (22:05.10) in the 196-runner field.
Rodolfo Guzman (23:12.10), Juan Avellana (23:22.50), Shoichi Fujii (23:54.80) and Joshua Spradlin (23:56.40) rounded out the results for the Warriors.
The team will return to action on Friday at the Mount San Antonio Invitational.
