Women Qualify for State Championships as Skefich Finishes Fourth
SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- The El Camino College women's cross country team qualified for the 3C2A State Championships after finishing 12th at the 3C2A Regional Championships on Friday at the Naval Training Center Park in San Diego, Calif.
The Warriors finished 12th overall in a field of 20 teams on Friday. Mount San Antonio finished first with Orange Coast and San Diego Mesa rounding out the top three.
Individually, Jadeyn Skefich placed fourth overall in a field of 147 runners. She crossed the finish line in 18:25.48, marking her first finish outside of the top-3 this season despite besting her time at the same venue in the SoCal Preview on Oct. 10 (18:35.91)
On the men's side, the Warriors placed 18th in the 27-team field as Riverside, Cerritos and Cuyamaca finished in the top three.
Nathaniel Lincourt paced the Warriors with a time of 21:51.49 while Doyun Kim crossed in 22:10.60 and Juan Avellana finished in 23:10.81.
The 3C2A State Championships are slated to take place on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif.
