Bio

The El Camino College Athletics Department appointed Kirsten Green as the new head coach of the cross country program in February 2025.

Green takes over the head job after longtime coach Dean Lofgren announced his retirement from the position following the 2024 season. He was the head coach of the cross country program for 36 years.

Green served as an assistant with the program since 2022. In her time in that role, Green was named the 3C2A Cross Country Assistant Coach of the Year in her first season with the Warriors as the women's team finished second in the South Coast Conference Championships and fifth overall at the 2022 3C2A State Championships.

Green was also the head coach of the Torrance High School Track and Field team from 2021-22 after serving as an assistant with the track and cross country teams from 2018-20.

Prior to that stint, Green served as the head coach for track and cross country at West Torrance High School from 2002-14. In her time there, Green was named the Daily Breeze Coach of the Year.

Green has also been a teacher of physical education and health since 2002 spanning from West Torrance High School (2002-2012), the Hong Kong International School (2014-16) and Torrance Unified School District (2018-present) along with her time as an instructor at El Camino College.

She obtained her bachelor of science degree in exercise science and physical education in 1996. She followed that up with her master of education degree in education administration from Grand Canyon University in 2006.

Green currently resides in Redondo Beach.
